About the Show
This production is based on the belief that every person in the world has the right to freedom. The treatment of asylum seekers and asylum seekers and their non-acceptance by society and the state threatens this fundamental human right. How open are we as a society to acceptance? How aware are we that the place of birth is a circumstance that we could not choose? Why do individuals in society condemn those who bravely decided to leave their homes, away from their families, friends, colleagues and acquaintances in search of freedom versus a life that does not provide them with security, a normal and peaceful environment, permanently living in fear for their safety and your children?
“The power relations that charted Wisam’s path and Shayma’s wait—are disproportionate to possibilities of the theater apparatus. They still have to settle on other plans, from the outlined house plan that the contractors draw, on the social welfare plan, education, politics and state apparatus. Relationships which, in turn, are the driving force behind this plays are the love relationships of husband and wife. Families, empathy, cares, and then theater games and fellowship”
